Turkey has become a favoured destination and
as such many more flights are available. Cheap flights to Turkey will be posted
here and in the forums with banner links direct to the relevant
companies booking pages.
Flights to Turkey are cheaper than ever with
scheduled flights from as little as £40 one way. Seasonally you can pick
yourself some bargains via charter flights. We've known return flights
being sold at the airports for a mere £15, but you have to be brave to
risk leaving it till that last minute!
This page has banners for British
Airway, Aegean and KLM who all offer good prices for flights, why not click and see for
yourself?
It might be an idea to give you information on
Turkish airports and which areas they service.
ANKARA: Esenboga Airport (ESB), which
serves some international but mostly domestic flights, is 33 km (21
miles) north of the city center. Airport bus (every 30 minutes from 4:30
am to midnight.
ANTALYA: The big, modern Antalya Airport (AYT), 10 km (6 miles)
east of the city center along the shore highway, has daily flights to
and from Ankara, Istanbul, and in summer several foreign cities (map).
Transport to and from the city is by Havas airport buses running from
8.15 am to 01.10 am. If you don't get on one of these buses, you must go
by taxi, which can be expensive.
BODRUM: Milas-Bodrum Airport (BXN), with daily flights to and
from Istanbul, is 33 km (21 miles) north of the city on the way to Milas
(map). Havas airport buses to and from Bodrum are coordinated with
Turkish Airlines domestic flight times. If you want to use a taxi a
signboard posted by the taxi rank displays fares in various currencies,
which are set at fixed rates for all local destinations.
British Airways flights are coming up
extremely competitive for 2008. An example, London to Izmir,
June 9th 1 week, £82 each way, all in! No extras, taxes are
included in the quotes which is something we're all glad to
see. Makes flying in comfort a lot more attractive. Link
below, see for yourself and book early before they creep up.
London to Istanbul in June 08, £79 one
way. Must be booked by 13th May.
DALAMAN: Dalaman Airport (DLM). Just outside the small town of
Dalaman, 50 km (31 miles) NW of Fethiye and 120 km (75 miles) SE of
Marmaris, serves the western Mediterranean coast with daily flights to
Istanbul and Ankara, and charter flights to foreign cities, in summer.
Dalaman airport is a 3-4 km taxi ride from Dalaman bus station and town.
From there, frequent buses go to Fethiye and Antalya up to 12 midnight.
There are only four buses per day from the airport itself and they leave
from the Domestic Terminal.
ISTANBUL: Most long-haul international flights to Turkey land at
Atatürk International Airport (IST) 23 km (14 miles) west of the city
center at Yesilköy on the European shore of the Sea of Marmara . This
airport is connected to the Metro (underground) system, cheap and easy,
to central Istanbul and the main Bus station
Istanbul's new Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW), on the Asian shore of the
Sea of Marmara, serves charter flights, some Turkish Airlines flights to
Ankara, and smaller aircraft . The Haydarpasa-Gebze Express is available
departing from Pendik Train Station. The services leaves every 15
minutes and takes only half an hour. Tickets are available on board .There are also regular suburban services. The service runs daily
05:16-00:21. Also regular bus service to central Istanbul every 15 mins.
There are incredibly cheap internal flights enabling you to take
advantage of cheap flights to Istanbul from the UK and elsewhere.
Atlasjet, IZair, Pegasus Airlines, and Onur are the main domestic
carriers and you are better (cheaper) buying your tickets from Turkey
itself.
IZMIR: Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), 18 km (11 miles) south of
the city, is also well positioned for travelers going to Selçuk (55
km/34 miles), Ephesus (58 km/36 miles) and Pamukkale (252 km/157 miles),
with many flights daily to and from Istanbul and Ankara.
The easiest way to get there from İzmir is by the Havaş airport shuttle
bus (every 20 minutes, 35 to 60 minutes) from the Turkish Airlines
office.
