Price comparison chart. Utilities are per month unless
otherwise stated.
As pointed out in the forums, something's won't factor
in in Turkey and vice versa. For example, houses are owned
outright with no mortgage so that is one overhead less, plus
rents are significantly cheaper in most areas of Turkey. A
like for like London with Istanbul say and London comes out
more expensive.
Everything has been converted to sterling at todays rate
of 2.3 YTL to the pound. 17.01.08

Some things don't transpose so well, ie gas for cooking
in Turkey is bottled and works out at £3.50 a month, ergo
more electricity is used.
Digital and satelitte packages all vary as do telephone.
Turkey fruit and veg is also seasonal as it's all fresh
and for the most part organic, supermarkets are starting to
stock imported stuff.
We've tried averaging out for the above table. Both
countries have offers and promotions so things have been
kept at mid range for both.
Will be adding to this but you have a basic idea of
likely costs by comparison.
